Union Public Service Commission(UPSC), New Delhi issued Notification for Indian Economic Service(IES), Indian Statistical Service(ISS) Exam 2012 as per Advertisement NO. 12/2012-IES/ISS – 2012 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation in the Gazette of India dated the 1st September, 2012. The Services to which recruitment is to be made on the results of this examination and the approximate number of vacancies in Grade IV of the Services are given below :
1. Indian Economic Service = 31 Job Post
2. Indian Statistical Service = 29 Job Post
Age Limit : A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2012, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1982 and not later than 1st August, 1991.
Qualification : a) For Indian Economic Service : Postgraduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics b) For Indian Statistical Service : Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or a foreign university approved by the Central Govt. from time to time.
Application fee : Rs.200/- (NO Fee for SC/ST/PH/Women Candidates) – Fee payment must be made either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.
